NWSMBA invites member families to a first aid information and demonstration session, delivered by First Aid For You, on Saturday 21 June 2025, 2pm - 4pm at Castle Hill Baptist Church (13 Showground Road, Castle Hill). In a relaxed, practical and engaging session, you will learn the skills and gain understanding on how to manage child-related emergencies, these include: Child and Baby Resuscitation Near Drowning Choking Management Allergic Reaction Management Asthma Management Blood Loss Burns Poisoning/Bites and Stings Fever and Convulsions Head Injuries/Fractures First Aid For Families is a non-certificate course that is conducted in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council. This session is baby and child-friendly. Children of all ages are welcome. Thanks to government funding, NWSMBA is able to fully subsidise the training session. North West Sydney & North Shore Sydney Multiple Birth Associations have received funding from Volunteer Grants 2022-23 to run Accidental Counsellor training to give our volunteers and members the tools and confidence when supporting other member families.  What will you learn?: The Accidental Counsellor training will help you manage your own wellbeing and self care so you can be in the best position to listen and connect to the people you may encounter needing support. At the end of the course, you will be able to: Increase and enhance your own wellbeing. Feel more confident and certain in how to best respond to a person in need. Connect with a person in need, and engender safety and trust. Empower others with solution focused conversations. Who is this course for?: This course is available to all member families of NWSMBA and NSSMBA; those that currently, previously or intend to volunteer with the club will be prioritised. It is aimed primarily for those contributing to or attending social activities with the club where you may benefit from being able to support another member family through conversation within that moment. Add your completion of the course to your CV! What is the commitment?: Register to join the facilitator-led virtual training on Thursday 15 February 2024, 6pm - 9pm. You will also gain access to over 70+ self-paced online mental health and wellbeing courses for 12 months. Places are limited - register now!
